Assessing trophic state of surface waters of Służewiecki Stream (Warsaw)

Abstract Phosphorus (P) is one of the key nutrient compounds for phytoplankton grow. In conducted work, eutrophication indexes were used assessment level water course (Służewiecki Stream) and waters nearby lakes (Bottom Berensewicz’s Pond, Wyścigi Wilanowskie Lake). Calculating based on most important indicators which crucial process: total phosphorus (TP), nitrogen (TN), chlorophyll a (Chl( )) transparency. The research revealed that concentration in analysed determined intensity trophic processes. average both was high: 0.81 mg/l TP 6.8 TN. During this research, two approaches used: state index (TSI) (TLI). TSI (TP) Służewiecki Stream were, respectively: 83 6.5 whilst standing (lake ponds) 87 6.6. Both indicated high confirmed serious endangerment surface waters. Calculated sufficient effective sustainable protection management quality
